Useful for the non web design savvy out there: "Web Design Industry Jargon: Glossary and Resources"

There are specialized terms referring to all sorts of aspects of web design. For someone just getting started in web design, or someone looking to have a site designed, all the technical jargon can be overwhelming. Especially the acronyms.

Liked "What San Francisco/Silicon Valley can learn from the Twittering company: Zappos"

Then when we got into the front lobby we were warming greeted again, and then as we looked around, we saw this wasn’t going to be a normal visit to a normal company. There was a book store with books free for the taking. There was a popcorn machine. A Dance Dance Revolution machine. A “hall of fame” board for employees who had pushed “reply to all” too quickly. And a video display that showed off how many sales were made yesterday.

Update 1: Take also a look at this interesting article on the Zappos way of managing

Why Programmers Suck at CSS Design

My hope is to show people that feel CSS challenged that you don’t need to be an artist, know how to draw or even just pick colors, and certainly you don’t need to know how to use Photoshop to be able to come up with a nice, clean, readable and original layout.

Being a developer, I found this article really refreshing; as even after reading books and posts on CSS, and written several CSS sheets from scratch, I still speak CSS with a strong accent. And I also found useful this help on how to spot quality within web design.

Security Corner: Input Filtering

Input filtering is the method by which you validate all incoming data and prevent any invalid data from being used by your application. It's very similar in theory to how water filtering works, where impurities in water are not allowed to pass.

Old but still valid, just look at what did happens to Twitter and Digg this week! And don't forget output filtering too. And here is another good post on the subject.

And if you are a developer speaking CSS with a strong accent, then like me you may need some help.
