My Twitter Hacking list

Taking advantage of the new Twitter List feature, I just created a hacking list focusing on relevant programmer news, from architecture to coding, including high scalability systems and a dose of cloud computing. I tried to avoid including "people" with too much noise or tech news style. For such lists, I would recommend scobleizer lists: you can not find more exhaustive lists than his!.

This list is going to evolve by adding or removing "people" based on noise level and technical relevancy. Any feedback or suggestions is welcome!

The IBM Exploratory Stream Processing Systems group is working on highly scalable stream processing platforms and applications

  • Parallel and high performance stream processing software platform capable of scaling over a range of hardware capability
  • Agile and automated reconfiguration in response to changing user objectives, available data, and the intrinsic variability of system resource availability
  • Incremental tasking in the face of rapidly changing data forms and types
  • Secure, privacy-compliant, and auditable execution environment
  • And take a look at the IBM press release announcing System S a "stream computing" software directly based on this research.

Some interesting SUN #cloud recent work: a white paper and an open source RESTful Cloud Computing APIs project

SUN just released a Cloud Computing Primer white paper available at http://www.sun.com/offers/details/cloud_computing_primer.html (need to have a free SUN online account).

And within the Project Kenai, open source developer portal, SUN is looking for some review and comment on its RESTful open source Cloud Computing  APIs. Its a pretty neat and clean set of APIs, and it has a friendly Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License (even if Attribution need to be kept). Check it out at http://kenai.com/projects/suncloudapis/pages/Home

    GAE Java

I hope that this rumor is going to turn real, and hopefully they also package GWT as a library. Ultimate cloud hosting.http://bit.ly/14ZoY2
